My backyard Turf has wrinkles in it, hollow areas with turf on top of it. The seems are very noticeable. the turf was laid on the rock not granite. Also when I asked about infilled he said this turf has thatch already in it so you don't need infill.

It is difficult to tell without seeing the process and results of the installation. Turf installers might use different installation materials that available locally and alternate the process from our recommendations while still achieving the goals such as proper drainage. Infills are recommended for the purpose of helping to hold down the turf and minimize contractions and expansions. Your installer is correct that most of our turf are thick and fluffy enough to stand up well, though. Sometimes people skip using infills because of budget or for small areas.
