The process of making artificial grass is a lengthy and completed one. Not many manufacturers in the world can do what we are able: to manufacture the artificial grass from start to finish. Here is the summary of an overall manufacturing process:

1. Yarn extrusions: This is the very initial stage of artificial grass manufacturing, by using PE and PP resins to produce the yarns needed for the artificial grass, typically PE is used for straight yarns, and thatching yarns can use either PP or PE. PE is polyethylene and PP is polypropylene, both are the main raw materials used for artificial grass manufacturing.

2. Once yarns being made, the next step is to tuft the yarns onto a cloth base called primary backing which is a product made by PP materials, typically 15’ wide. The tufting processing can be considered as the main section of the artificial grass making and most of the so-called artificial turf manufacturers are actually only engaged in the tufting part of the business.

3. Once artificial grass being tufted, the next step is coating: basically to put glue on the back the tufted turf to hold fibers tight on the primary backing. Length cutting and packaging are also done at the coating stages, as when the turf being tufted, it will be a very long continuous piece (hundreds if not thousands feet), at the coating stage, we will cut the grass into desired length and roll them up as individual rolls and wrap it with protective tarps.

Again, Global Syn-Turf is the only one of the few artificial grass manufacturers who dose all above manufacturing processes in the world. We are the innovator of many industry leading technologies and products, and doing the entire process under one single roof can ensure the best quality control to provide the top notch products on the market.
