Is removing the soil before installation bad for the environment?

There will be minimum removal of the soil before installing artificial grass, on average, it will be about 4” thick. And in most cases, people are replacing the old real grass lawns with the artificial turf, so by the time you finish removing the old lawn, you might only need to excavate couple of more inches further which can be easily done and won’t cause any harm for environment or anything else I can imagine.
