What happens if I don't apply sand infill for my artificial grass? Is it necessary to apply infill?

There are several reasons for using infills on artificial grass installations, couple of them are for general purposes, some of them are for specific purposes.

General purpose of using infills on artificial grass:

1. To add extra weight to the turf to minimize the expansions and contractions due to the temperature changes: for many areas that have big temperature differences during day or from season to season, without extra weight on turf, the expansions and contractions can create issues such as turf seams and edges separations or wrinkles on the surface.

2. To help the turf fibers standing up better. With infills on turf, the artificial grass blades will stand up better and more resilient to matted down.

Specific purposes of using infills on artificial grass (you don’t have to use two different types of infills, the following infills will serve the two general purposes above as well along with their special functions);

1. To neutralize the pet urine odor: Zeofill

2. To help keep your artificial grass cool during hot days (TCool)

3. To prevent germ/bacteria from growing: wonderfill (antimicrobial coated green colored sands)

4. To simply feel better psychologically and make entire product more uniformed: Green colored sand
