The answer is yes and no. Artificial grass come in with the form of “rolls”, exactly like carpet, we call this type of product “broadloom”. The turf is rolled up around a center core which is made of cardboard or PVCs, the dimensions of the cores varies from 3”-5” in diameter and they are as long as the Turf’s width which typically is 15’. Moving and shipping such broadloom products requires a forklift attachment, carpet pole. You simply have to equipped with forklift along with the carpet poles when move or ship the turf.

When I answered yes to your question, I refer to the fact of when people are handling turf products without carpet poles during the shipment, and damages to the turf can happen easily, a lot of shipping companies don’t have carpet poles, they will use forklift and the tips of the forklift can easily poke into the turf and cause damages.

When I answered no to your question: if your shipping company have the proper forklift along with carpet poles and handle and ship your products professionally, it will be much less likely cause damages to the turf.

At Global Syn-Turf, we only use shipping companies who are equipped and capable of handling and shipping broadloom products.
