You always want to use the smallest meshed infills on artificial putting greens. Our putting greens were tufted very tightly and leaves very minimal room for infills to go in, you will have an extremely hard time to brush bigger grain infills into it. We would recommend to use either #30 or #60 mesh infills for all our putting greens. Please feel free to contact us by phone: 877 796 8873 or email: [email protected] if you have any further questions, or you can fill out this online form to find the local distributors/dealers near you: https://www.globalsynturf.com/free-quote, thank you.

The base preparation for artificial putting greens is the same as regular artificial grass. So typically you will need to excavate about 4” of soil then put a bottom layer of 2-1/2” thick of drain rock and a top layer of decomposed granite at 1-1/2” thickness, both layers will be compacted at 90%. Please let us know if you have any other questions by phone: 877 796 8873 or email: [email protected], thank you.

Yes, you will need concrete to install golf cups on your artificial putting green. You will install the putting green turf in a similar way as you are installing regular turf, when it comes to the cup installation, you will need concrete to secure it in the ground. You will find this YouTube video helpful for golf cup installations: https://youtu.be/FU1xv1E1c4k. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call (877 796 8873) or email ([email protected]), thank you.

You can use either nail for your artificial grass installations, they both will work out well to give you satisfactory results: the 40 D nails is a bit thinner and shorter and cost less, some installers like it as it can be a bit easier to drive through the turf at the installation; 60 D nails are bit more expensive but longer which theoretically provide better hold. Please feel free to contact us by phone (877 796 8873) or email ([email protected]) if you have any other questions, thank you!

When finished with the artificial putting green installation, the edges of the golf cup should be about 1/8”-1/4” lower than the putting green surface. We offer two different depth on the golf cups, 4” or 6” in either plastic or aluminum options, you will need to cement the cups regardless the depth or materials. We are not experts on real grass, however, in my personal opinion, to grow and maintain real grass putting greens at a regular residential house can be difficult or impossible. That is why artificial putting greens make the world of sense and deliver almost the same functionality and performance. Please let us know if you have any other questions by phone: 877 796 8873 or email: [email protected], thank you.

Not really. Regular sub base for any normal outdoor artificial grass installation will be good and sufficient for artificial putting greens. A typical sub base will be about 3-4” thick with bottom layer of drain rock and top layer of decomposed granite or equivalent top layer material to provide a smooth and solid surface. You can find details of artificial putting green installation guide on our website at this link: https://www.globalsynturf.com/putting-green-installation. If you have any further questions, please contact us by phone: 877 796 8873 or email: [email protected], thank you.

Not at all. It depends how often you use your artificial putting greens, you should expect normal wear and tear given consistent traffic on it. However, overtime, your green will be matted down more and actually become smoother. A typical artificial putting green will last your at least eight or ten years if not more under normal use. Please let us know if you have any more questions by phone: 877 796 8873 or email: [email protected], thanks.

Well, the most common edging finishes for artificial putting greens are artificial grass fringes. It depends on the area of your putting greens, you might want to design it with proper sized putting area with some regular artificial turf products around it as fringes, in such application, it can be a bit complicated for preparations and installations, I will suggest you to check out this YouTube channel for all the putting green installation details: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfhiMWU7Avyvd594wAqCt_g.

Preparing the sub base for all the artificial grass is a very similar process regardless it is regular landscape artificial turf or putting greens such as Putt-60BiColor. In general, you will need to excavate about 4” of the ground soil, then install drain rock, compact it then decomposed granite, and compact it to provide perfectly smooth surface. You can find the installation guide at this link on our website: https://www.globalsynturf.com/installation-guides.
