There is a big and important step for artificial grass installation which doesn’t apply to carpet: to build the sub base. Once the sub base is built, when it comes to installing the turf onto the base, or if installing turf onto a solid surface such as hardwood or concrete, the installation will be very similar to that of carpet. You will use the same tool to cut, same knee stretcher. There are still some different techniques needed for turf when seaming two pieces together as the seaming tape and glues are more for outdoor applications vs carpets are most for indoors. It will be fair to say that a skillful carpet installer will find it easy to install artificial grass once the sub base has been built or onto a solid surface. Well, you never use nails on the surface of artificial putting greens! I only recommend you to use sand infills on the artificial putting greens to provide extra weight holding the turf down and help with increasing of ball speed, but not to use any nails. You do need nails to secure the artificial putting green’s edges onto the anchor boards at the installation.
