Typically, there are two main components kept your artificial grass in place: nails and infills. At the installation of your artificial grass, you need to put nails along the edges of your turf, at 4-6” apart, at the end of installation, you will need to put infills on the surface of artificial grass surface, such infills need to be at averaged about 2 lbs per square foot. Such nailing and infilling will secure your artificial grass in place to prevent expansions and contractions which to minimum the chances of failures of seams and edges of your artificial turf.

Yes, you can vacuum the artificial turf for indoors: most of the cases, we don’t recommend infills to be used on synthetic grass for indoor applications, so you can simply use vacuum to clean up the turf, guess what, the vacuum will also help the artificial grass stand up better!

Typically you can treat your indoor artificial grass as carpet, the only thing you won’t do is to steam clean it as you would on real carpets. If your artificial grass is with short blades which are common for indoor applications, you can simply vacuum it by setting your vacuum cleaner at high carpet settings. You will need to be a bit careful on the real high fiber artificial grass when it comes to cleaning: you need to test a bit to see if your vacuum can handle real tall fibers before you vacuum it, if not, you can use semi-dry mop to clean the grass. Cleaning your GST turf is pretty simple—just rinse it down with a hose every so often to keep dust and debris off. If you've got leaves or other stuff on there, a simple broom or leaf blower does the trick. If your turf gets a lot of foot traffic or if pets use it, you might want to hose it down more frequently to keep it fresh. Super easy, right?

Normally artificial grass holds up very well, and no need to clean it unless it gets to the point you would like to clean it. I have seen artificial lawns not being cleaned for years and still look great. However, it doesn't mean you don't clean the turf at all if you want to. Cleaning turf can be easy, you can simply use the garden hose to rinse off the turf, or power wash it. You also can use a soap bottle that attached to the garden hose to "wash" the turf first, then use water to rinse it off. If you use a power washer, you want to be careful not to get infills powered out of the turf, one of the cool things you can do when using power washer: you can get the fibers up standing nicely!
