Solid Base Protection for Turf

Installed the weed barrier before laying our turf and it’s held up great. Zero weeds pushing through months later. It was easy to cut and didn’t tear during install. Definitely a crucial step that paid off big.

My flower patch is in the middle of my lawn, can I still make a base?

You will only need to prepare the sub base for artificial grass only by leaving your flower patch the way it is. If not finished with any edging materials around the flower patch, you might need to do so by using either bender board or wonderedge to finish off the perimeters so the artificial turf can connect to the edges perfectly. Please call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected] if you have any further questions or would like to send us with your application size/pictures so we can further assist you, thank you.

Does good drainage depend mostly on the base or the turf itself?

To achieve the best drainage capacity for artificial grass, both the turf and base are equally important: all our turf products have the drainage capacity at an average of 50-60 inches per hour which can handle the most downpour you can imagine, in order to achieve its best level, the base will need to be able to handle the similar amount of water. We recommend to have the base built as thick as 4” with 2-1/2” of drain rock with 1-1/2” of top layer, this is especially important for rainy areas. Some of the less rainy areas, people might do thinner base. The golden rule for artificial grass drainage is that the turf will drain just as well as the base.
