We always recommend to use a Drop Spreader to apply infills onto the artificial grass. You can find such spreader from most of home improvement centers or hardware stores or landscape suppliers. There could be two reasons regarding your concern: we are not familiar with the particular infill you have used, however, the mesh of the infill might be a bit too big, we typically recommend to use #16 or #20 mesh infills. Secondly, for infill purpose, rake might not work well especially when the infill particles are big, a coarse push broom will work better, most of professional installers use power broom to get the job done. Generally speaking, you can combine the two different infills: Tcool and Zeofill at about even amount, some people do so once a while on their artificial grass installations. However, you need to be aware that when you combine the infills, we won’t be able to reach the max results of getting turf cooled or pet odor reductions, both Tcool and Zeofill will function but not near to their capacities, unfortunately I don’t have any effectiveness percentage numbers. In your case, I will always recommend to use Tcool as the infill and deal with the pet smells differently if it even become a problem for you.
