Choosing the right artificial turf is not easy.  With a 15 year warranty and a 25-30 year life expectancy you want to make sure you choose the right artificial turf because you are going to have it for a very long time.  The shape of the artificial turf blades is so important.  I received samples from Global Syn Turf and they have C Shape Blades, Diamond Shape Blades, Double S Blade, Double W Blade, Hollow Blade, M Shape Blade, S Blade, Seven Step Blade, Stem Blade, W Shape Blade, V Shape Blade, U Shape Blade, etc.  There is so much to choose from.  Besides that you have so many different color configurations like Olive, Field, Apple, Lime, Dark Emerald, Emerald Green, Bi Color Green, etc.  Now you have to choose from pile height, face weight, total weight, stitch gauge, etc.  Then there is the thatch, you have no thatch, green thatch, brown thatch and you even have brown and green thatched.  Here is what I recommend, get as many samples as you can lay them out in your backyard and let them sit there for a week or two.  Start with the process of elimination, every day remove the ones you don't like.  Once you narrow it down, step on them, kneel down and feel them.  Lastly, take the renaming swatches and go lay them next to real grass to see which ones look the most realistic and don't have a shine or sheen.  Thanks Global Syn Turf for walking me through this process.
