Turf Drainage

I have been shopping artificial grass companies and quality artificial turf.  I made relentless telephone calls and did a lot of research online.  I narrowed my choice down to 3 companies based on a list of qualifications.  I was looking for a reputable company that had references and quality products.  At the end of the day my choice was Global Syn Turf for their Flo-Rite-Thru Pet Turf Technology.  The artificial turf is for my dog and I wanted the artificial turf to have superior drainage.  The Global Syn Turf Pet Turf has their patented Flo-Rite-Thru drainage at 121 inches per hour.  That is a lot of drainage and a lot more than all the other companies I researched.  It is imperative the pet urine drains down through the artificial turf and into the natural soils.  If the turf doesn't drain well you won't get this result.  The other thing I learned from Global Syn Turf is how to properly maintain artificial turf with pets.  Artificial Turf is labeled as low maintenance or no maintenance, however with Pets you need to provide frequent maintenance.  First and foremost you need to use water to rinse the artificial turf to help flush any and all dog urine through the turf down to the natural soil.  Secondly and equally important you need to use a enzyme based anti microbial anti bacterial Pet Deodorizer.  Don't dilute the deodorize but spray it directly on the turf, don't skimp, let it soak for a few hours and then rinse very very well.  If the odor smell still isn't gone then repeat the process.  None of this will hurt or discolor the grass in anyway.  I want to thank Global Syn Turf for their help to get turf.

What makes the drainage system in your turf superior to competitors?

Our Pet Turf artificial grass can drain up to 120 inches per hour which is a bout 10 times of downpours of a category 5 hurricane! Actually all of our turf can drain super well and whatever the water pour, Pet Turf’s capacity simply doubles that. One point people need to be aware is that your artificial grass drains as well as your base. Regardless the excellent drainage capacity of your Pet Turf, if you don’t build your sub base correctly, you will never achieve the ultimate results. There is a saying in the turf industry: your grass is as good as its base gets”. We need to look at artificial grass and it’s installations as “system”, not the grass product alone. With a good system done properly, your artificial grass will perform at its best, same theory applies to Pet Turf and its drainage capacity. You can find a lot of installation tips on our website along with primary guidelines. How does the drainage system work for your artificial grass?

We use punched holes on our artificial grass drainage system: such system has proved to be one of the most effective draining techniques for the past. It is a very simple theory, for specialty artificial grass such as pet turf, more drainage holes to be punched. A lot of turf companies on today’s market are using drainage as marketing tools rather than focusing on the true performances in real world. Artificial grass’ drainage capacity largely depends on its base: without a good and professionally built sub base, any artificial grass won’t be draining well, water or liquid will go through the grass but won’t dissipate away if the sub base is not permeable. On average, our artificial grass can drain 50-60 inches per hour which equals five times the amount of water dumped by a category 5 hurricane! Extremely sufficient and effective. You can find our permeability report on every artificial grass product on the following link , once one this page, click on the product, you will see all the testing reports shown: https://www.globalsynturf.com/artificial-grass-specifications-specs
