Can artifical turf be safely installed over a septic system drainfield

I am concerned that the installation process with putting down a stone base before installing the turf will damage my septic system's operating process. Do you have any information on the safety of doing this?

The answer is YES. Artificial grass has been installed over septic tanks many times. Turf is one of the true Landscaping Alternatives that is modular, meaning you can pull the turf back, pull the base back, fixed a water main or a septic tank and put the base back and reinstall the turf. In most cases, no one would ever know that the turf had been removed. You say yes to over septic tanks, but, what about the drain field, itself?
