I am not sure if I can install the artificial grass on my own or if I will let the installer do the work.

Generally speaking, artificial grass is fairly easy to install. However, depend on the size of your area, I will always recommend to have a professional installer to do the installation for you so things won’t go wrong. If you let installation doesn’t involve any seaming and you are able to excavate and handle bulk materials such drain rock and decomposed granite, you might be able to give it a try.
