The understand dripping system is a great idea: you can have the pipe buried under the turf base with water pointing up into the base rack: water will travel upwards then spread down to minimize chances of “channels” being created to harm the integrity of ground/base support of turf. Please feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have any further questions, thank you.
Yes, our turf can be installed on asphalt as long the surface is smooth without dents and holes. If the installation is temporary, double sided tapes can be used; if the installation is permanent, you will need to use turf glues. Typically, we can categorize infills as two types:
1. Silica sand: either clear sand or coated sand. Coated sands include green color coated or Tcool coated. The moisture retaining and vaporizing characteristics for sands are not much different than any regular sands we use on a daily basis.
2. Zeolite infill: this is a natural mineral which have good moisture retaining capacity and neutralize the dog smells.
Given warm or hot temperature and air flow, all infills can dry well. For any further questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.
If you are not able to excavate the roadway and build a sub base for your turf, you can use drainage board underneath to create drainage capability. Our artificial grass products have excellent drainage capacities themselves, however, without proper sub base you will not be able to materialize the turf’s drainage. For normal installations, we recommend to excavate about 3”-4” and use drain rock and decomposed granite to build a solid yet porous base before installing turf over. Or a drainage board should be used. To find out more about the normal sub base, please visit our installation guide at: https://www.globalsynturf.com/installation-guides. For more information about using drainage boards and you have an account with us, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected] so we can connect you with your service representative. Yes, our Riviera Monterey-50 can be used for indoor sports, please be aware that the longevity of all artificial grass used for sports either indoors or outdoors will depend on the usage time, more specifically how many hours per day and how many days a week. Obviously the longer and more frequent the turf being played on, the shorter lifespan of the turf. For specific requests or questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.
15x19 is a rather small area, adding infills onto such small piece of turf can be easy: you can simply hold the infill bags and spread the infills onto the artificial grass surface, then using a push broom to brush the infills into the turf. Sometimes installers will use nails in the putting green turf to stabilize the installation. However, the. Type of nails used has to be without heads (or pins) and once installed, people won’t notice them at all. Regular 40D or 60D will probably not work as the mail heads will be exposed. I hope your installer has used the correct nails that not visible on your green, of course it will always be ideal to only have infills to hold the turf in place without using any nails. At the installation of artificial grass, infills will need to be brushed in by using a power broom or a push broom or even power washer. Given time, the infills will settle in more which is not noticeable at all l, nor such settling will affect how the turf being used.
