We made the switch from natural sod to All Natural-75 after years of battling patchy grass and muddy spots. I was hesitant at first, thinking artificial grass might look too “fake,” but this product changed my mind completely. The color variation and thatch layer make it blend seamlessly with our garden and surrounding landscape. It has the perfect amount of springiness underfoot, and the surface feels soft enough for the kids to play on barefoot.
We’ve hosted several backyard gatherings since the installation, and everyone has commented on how great it looks. No more mowing, watering, or reseeding, which saves us a ton of time and money. Our dog loves it too-it drains well and never smells. The turf has maintained its shape and color even after some very hot and rainy days. I truly feel like we upgraded the entire property just by changing the lawn.

The cost of installing a new natural lawn includes soil preparation. Before seeding, some basic pH testing must be done, and the results are mitigated by adding limestone mixes to make the soil less acidic, or sulfate and sulfur to decrease Ph (increase acidity.) You can buy topsoil in HomeDepot, Lowes, or any home improvement store nearby. They sell them in bags by cubic feet. In most cases, you need to add 2 inches of topsoil and mix it with the tilled down sod beneath. How to calculate how many bags of topsoil you need?

Sod cutters are commonly used for natural grass, not on artificial grass. We don’t recommend to use sod cutters on our turf products. However, as you have mentioned that you want to use it to prepare the base in which case I assume you would like to use the cutter to remove existing real grass, if so, you can always rent one from a local rental store instead of buying. We don’t carry any sod cutters, if you have any further questions, please call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.
