I bought these to lay down for my dogs, and they love them. They are soft and look much better than dirt. It solved a big problem with the dogs killing the grass and then laying in the dirt.
I will assume you are planning to replace your existing real grass lawn with artificial turf. If it is the case, you will need to excavate the existing lawn along with some soil up to 4” deep. By doing so you are creating enough depth for building a sub base for the artificial grass. The soil or dirt preparation doesn’t have to be perfect as you will put a layer of drain rock right over the soil, after compacting, you will need to put a layer of decomposed granite or equal before installation of your turf: you will need to make sure the layer of your decomposed granite to be perfectly compacted and smooth.

If I understand your question correctly, when small amount of dirt gets on your artificial grass, you can use broom to clean it off, or a blower. If your turf gets dirty, you can use garden hose to spray clean it. This is a great question! Artificial grass is as clean as you can get for your pets to play on. Our artificial turf surface has no dirt or soil associated with which provide an excellent playing surface for your pets. Actually the pets applications is one of the main advantages artificial grass offers. Not like real grass which can get really dirty, messy or muddy with rains or water, artificial turf will never have that problem, you can literally have your pets play on the turf in the rain or right afterward, the surface might get a bit wet from the residues on the turf blades, but at least the surface will be clean and free of mud.

This is a great idea! But I would recommend using artificial turf with short blades or putting green materials for this kind of application. You will need to find a good way to secure the turf onto the bed of your UTV, I don’t think using permanent glue a good idea as it will damage or leave glue residues on your bed. We are not necessarily experts with applications like this, the best possible recommendation I can think of to secure the turf onto the bed is to use either carpet double sided tape or Velcro.
