Pretty good for fake grass I guess

Sonoma Vista California

I wasn't sure what to expect with turf... I got it for my dogs during winter to make walking on the patio easier. The drainage holes at the bottom seem to work in letting extra snowmelt and waste flow out. If it were, on gravel or decking I think the liquid drainage would be even better.

Some products claim to have looking turf. Is that really possible? This one looks just like I thought it would. I poured a gallon of water on it as a test and within 30 minutes the messy splashing water puddle effect had completely disappeared, seeping through the product and down the patio slope.

I'm really pleased with this purchase because it does what I needed. It's a value though it still resembles grass. After two and a half months of rain and snow I've cleaned it off times and haven't found any lingering bits of green "grass" stuck to my shoes or tools.

I'd highly recommend it if you're okay, with fake grass looking like grass.

Is artificial grass a good alternative for playground gravel?

Absolutely. Artificial grass will be a much better option for playgrounds. Playgrounds get used a lot and I will suggest you to discuss with us when selecting your product, my recommendation is always to go with artificial grass that is lower pile and more durable. More importantly, artificial grass surface needs to have meet certain fall ratings or in the industry's term: GMax. In order to achieve to certain fall ratings, you need to install padding underneath the grass: The pads come in different thicknesses, each thickness offers its own fall rating capacities. For an example, if you want to have a fall rating of 5' which means falling onto the surface from 5' won't get people hurt, the thickness of the pads needs to be 1-1/4", the higher the fall, the thicker of the pads needed.

Is it a good idea to have artificial grass in cemeteries?

It would be a great idea to have artificial grass at cemeteries. We have our turf at a cemetery in the San Francisco Bay Area and it looks awesome. It cuts the maintenance by a great deal, and not to mention on water savings. The cemetery has bought extra several rolls of turf in the same dye lot, they store them, with the new buries, they provide an option for the family to choose with extra cost. Being the same dye lot, the grass matching up with each other, so the entire area looks very consistent. We have learned that most families have liked the artificial turf options, and they all have gone with turf. Most of the expenses at a cemetery is having crews maintaining the green look of the facility, once majority of the greens being replaced with fake grass, they can spare the crew for other works.
