Yes, our turf can be installed onto asphalt. However, it is not a good idea to lay tiles right over the turf, rather, we will suggest you to lay the tiles first, then cut turf into strips and fit in between tiles, you should use turf glues to affix the turf in place. The exact width is 15’-2” without manufacturer’s flaps. In most applications, installers to cut off first couple of stitch lines especially for seaming purpose. Most our turf’s gauge is 3/8” (the distance between stitch lines), so even cutting off couple of stitch lines, you will lose just about 1” or so. From what you are describing, I suspect the “shrinking” is due to some excessive heat which can be window or other object reflections or nearby heat sources like fence or pavements or objects being placed on the turf. Turf is like carpet which can be cut and patched, if you only have a 4”x4” area to be fixed and you still have any leftover turf from your original installation, you can cut the bad section out and patched with a new piece. To better assist you, we would like to see some pictures of your problem, you can email us at [email protected], thank you.

It is difficult to tell without seeing the process and results of the installation. Turf installers might use different installation materials that available locally and alternate the process from our recommendations while still achieving the goals such as proper drainage. Infills are recommended for the purpose of helping to hold down the turf and minimize contractions and expansions. Your installer is correct that most of our turf are thick and fluffy enough to stand up well, though. Sometimes people skip using infills because of budget or for small areas. In any case, uneven surface seems more like an installation issue. For any further questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.

Typical artificial grass installation over concrete surface in patio area can be simple: all you will need is turf glue. It is more like installing sheet vinyl floors. However, every project can be different and your existing surface conditions will determine if any or how much prep work to be done before gluing down the turf. The size of your patio can also make the installation more complicated, particularly a single piece or multiple pieces needed to cover the area, more cutting and seaming (to join pieces together) can require more time and experiences for a perfect result. Please always feel free to call us at 877 79) 8873 or email us at [email protected] if you have any further questions, thank you.
