Perfect Balance of Softness and Strength for Our Yard

Forest Lake California
Melissa

After a long search for the right turf, we decided on Riviera Monterey-65, and it’s been nothing short of fantastic. The feel underfoot is soft and plush, which makes it great for lounging or playing with the kids. At the same time, it’s dense enough to handle our active lifestyle, from backyard games to frequent gatherings.
The color variation looks very natural - not that overly uniform green you sometimes see with artificial turf. It also drains incredibly well; even after a heavy rain, we can use the yard without stepping into puddles. Maintenance is minimal, just an occasional brush-up to keep the blades upright.
We’ve had it installed for a few months now, and it still looks brand new despite constant use. Neighbors have commented on how nice it looks and even asked for the product name. I can confidently say Riviera Monterey-65 has completely transformed our backyard into a low-maintenance, year-round green space.

Which artificial grass is a balance of low cost and good quality?

Most of our artificial grass at 60 oz range or lower in term of face weight can be considered the best valued products. There are really two ways to look at the best values artificial grass on today’s market: overall, every single artificial product offered by us has the best value compared to the rest of the industry, comparing “apple to apple”, you won’t find anything come close to the value of our products offer. Secondly, which echo my point at the beginning of this answer, within our own artificial grass lineup, products with face weight of 60 oz range will be the group to represent the best values. Do the thicker turfs have more drainage holes to balance thickness?

Most of our artificial grass products come in with the same drainage hole patterns, in another word, regardless the thickness of the turf, the amount of drainage holes will be the same. But certain specific products such as our Pet Turf, will have more drainage holes which provide extra drainage capability. Again, most of landscape turf will have the same amount of drain holes, on everage our artificial grass can drain 40-60 inches per hour which equals 3 times of a downpour from category 5 hurricane. So you can always have a peace of mind about our turf’s drainage capability regardless the thickness. Do I need approval from HOA to install turf into my yard?

As far as I am aware that most of HOA won’t bother to regulate artificial grass installations. Some more restricted HOA might have some rules or regulations for your front yard landscaping, but I haven’t heard any cases that HOA regulate homeowners’ backyards. For state of California which is considered the most regulated among the entire nation, previous governor Jerry Brown has singed a las to prohibit HOA from restricting artificial grass installations. Artificial grass is considered as drought tolerant landscaping options, therefore it is encouraged to be installed with government rebates incentives. Similar incentive programs are also offered in many other states.

Will black walnuts ruin artificial grass?

The fibers of our artificial grass are not porous and the color is finished throughout so the black walnut won’t stain the turf. However, if you leave the walnuts for a long time period, they will make the turf surface messy which will require cleaning or rinsing. We will always recommend you to remove the walnuts on a regular basis to avoid long time messy build ups so you won’t have hard time to do the cleanings.
