I puchased synthetic grass from one of your distributors here in Phoenix, AZ and the very next day I had my artificial turf delivered to my home. The driver unloaded the artificial turf and on my driveway and helped us carry it around to the back of the home. I am a DIY person and me, my boyfriend and our gardener are installing the artificial turf ourselves. We did receive a few quotes for installation but we decided against it. Last weekend we did the 4 inches of tear out of the grass and dirt and then hauled it away to the dump. We had a building supply company drop ship a load of crushed rock aggregate in front our our house. We wheel barrowed 4 tons of crushed rock to the backyard, graded it out, wet it down and compacted it with a vibrating plate we rented. The compaction came out great and we think we got it to over 90% compaction. We then cut the turf into pieces, laid it out and seamed it with the seam tape and glue we bought from the Global Syn Turf distributor. The distributor sales rep was every kind to give us tips and instructions on how to seam the artificial turf. Once the turf was seamed we nailed in down real good and then top dressed it with the T-Cool Infill. The T-Cool Infill as we are told makes the grass 30-50 degrees cooler when it gets watered down. You put water on the turf and the infill absorbs the water and slowly releases the evaporation cooling down the artificial turf.

Can I use artificial turf on a sandy area?

I am not sure if I understand your question correctly, anyway, there are two possible scenarios here: installing artificial grass on top of the sandy area or installing artificial grass in an area that can be sandy. If you are referring to if you can install artificial grass on a sandy base, the answer is NO. The artificial grass will be as good as its base: the base preparation is very critical for a good installation. Sandy base will be too loose and not solid enough for artificial grass, if artificial grass is installed over sandy area, you will very possibly see wrinkles, ripples, waves and dents on the grass surface, such issues not only destroy the appearance of the lawn, but also present tripping hazards. Even in a sandy area you still can install artificial grass by properly following our installation guidelines, you just can’t simply put artificial turf on top of sandy surface. Is artificial turf durable with big digger dogs?

All our artificial grass products have gone through rigorous wear and tear testings before we bring them onto the market. The test method we use is "Lisport", and most of our products last more than 10,000 cycle or more. Therefore, our turf is very durable and can handle dog activities without a problem. However, the word "digger" is a concern in your questions, even though our products are durable to handle regular traffic and activities, but it is not meant for "digging" or "chewing" or "eating". I think you will need to train your dog for not to do such things on any artificial grass or any surfaces as abusive behaviors such as digging will damage the artificial grass.
