When it comes to artificial grass glues usage at the installation, if you follow the proper procedures and apply the glue correctly, you will never need to reapply it after the installation. You can find the basic installation guide at this link: https://www.globalsynturf.com/installation-guides. What is the difference between nails and glue for installation?

The usage of nails and glues are different for artificial grass installations, you will need both to get the proper job done, not necessarily one is better than the other. In general, you will need to nails to secure the perimeters of your artificial turf, and also to be used along with seaming tape and glue to secure the joints of two pieces together. The turf glues are mainly used to bond the artificial grass seams together.

Is it cheaper to go with nails or turf glue for installation of 15x70?

If your artificial turf installation is to replace real grass lawn, you won’t be able to use the glues on a sub base besides the seam. For installations over hard surfaces, the glue will be the only option in most cases, therefore, it is hard to compare the glue with nail from the cost standpoint when it comes to artificial grass installations as these two items are not substitutable of each other. Is it better to glue just the seams during installation?

Yes, as the manufacturer of the artificial grass, we strongly recommend to use glue on all turf seams at the installation. We offer such turf glues from our product lineups with different sizes: 29 oz tube, 1 gallon and 5 gallon buckets. Depends on the size of your application, you can choose different sizes. For permanent artificial grass installation on a hard and smooth surface such as concrete, turf glues are also required along with 1/4” notched trout to apply the glue. Is the 5 gallon ultrabond glue enough for a 15x23 SN80 installation?

Most of the time, glues are used for the seaming purpose, and the typically the seaming tape is either 6” or 12” wide. One gallon of glue can do 40’-45’ length of seam or to cover an area of 40-45 sf.. In the case of gluing artificial grass onto a solid surface such as concrete or hardwood, you can use the reference of one gallon of glue to cover 40-45 sf of turf area. However, you won’t need the entire area to be glued even installing turf onto a solid surface, you will need to glue the edges and a few rolls of 12” wide glues in the fields, so a 5 gallon glue will be enough for a 15x23 turf installation on a solid surface.
