Living in a hot climate, we were worried about the turf heating up too much during the summer, but TCool Infill has made all the difference. It keeps the surface cool enough to walk on barefoot, even during the hottest days. The infill also helps with drainage, so we never have to worry about water pooling after rain. The installation was easy, and the results are amazing. It’s a must-have for anyone in a warm climate looking to keep their yard comfortable year-round.
When it comes to the question of "holding up to the heat", there are two terminologies associated with it: dis-forming point and melting point. Everyone in artificial grass industry is using the "melting point" as the main reference to holding up to heat.

The Tcool comes in as 50 lb per bag, and we suggest to use 1.5 to 2 lbs of infills per sq ft of artificial turf. Therefore, you will need 48-64 bags of TCool for your 1600 sf area. For any further questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.

Yes, artificial grass will get much warmer than natural grass during the hot summer days as it is made of plastic resins. We have some unique technologies to address the turf heat issue which reduces the heat buildup compared to other artificial turf but not as close as that to real grass. As of currently, one of the best solutions to keep the artificial grass cool is to use TCool infills which can help bringing the temperature down as much as 50 degrees F. Well, this is a very tough question to answer. Extreme climates such as extreme hot weather can damage the artificial grass. Give the fact of artificial turf is made of plastic components, extreme hot will ultimately get turf melted. But artificial turf can withstand pretty well in colder climates only that the fibers will get a bit stiffer in the cold environment. I remember seeing a picture of trash can got melted by the heat in Arizona, think about the fact of artificial grass fiber compare to a heavy duty trash can, if the trash bin can be melted, the chances of the turf getting melted also can be true. Just a reminder, our warranty doesn't cover any melting damages on the turf.

Our re-engineered Cool Blue Hollow series of artificial grass is made of fibers with a hole in it (like a straw), such fiber design will help trapping moistures inside the fiber and keep the temperature down after water being sprayed on. TCool is an infill product that will help dramatically reduce the heat of the turf once applied, the Cool Blue Hollow products and the TCool infills are not contradicted one another, definitely can be used together to achieve the ultimate cooling results. So I will always to recommend both for the best cooling effectiveness of your artificial grass surface.
