In the past decade, the use of "new generation" artificial turf has become quite common throughout the United States. Synthetic grass applications that not related to sport fields are getting really popular in western states such as California, Arizona and Nevada. Such states are areas where outdoor water use is restricted or low maintenance is desired. Common applications include veterinary clinics, animal shelters, golf practice ranges, school yards, residential lawns, and low water use landscapes.
The market of residential lawns has been growing at an average annual rate of thirty five percent even during the economy downturns. As market grows, prices are coming down dramatically which in turn to fuel further market growth! Alvin Balahadia used to work for an artificial grass installation company in San Jose, California, he remembers how the selling of synthetic grass for residential lawn applications fifteen years ago: You walked in a house as a salesman, the first question to the homeowners was: "Do you know the artificial grass is a luxury thing, only the top ten percent of the household can afford it?" This might sound humiliating but true. Fifteen years ago, the turn key price for installing artificial grass in San Francisco Bay Area was between $22.00 and $26.00 per square foot, while today's price range is between $8.00 and $14.00 per square foot. Such price range is still much higher than natural grass. "The normal life expectancy of artificial grass is about 15 years. If you can get your investment back within first five years by saving money on water and maintenance, then you enjoy the beautiful lawn for the next 10 years without any water bills and the hassles of mowing and trimming, will you do it? I know I will." Said Alvin Balahadia :"It is a great investment on your house as houses with synthetic grass lawns are considered with upgraded premium options here in San Francisco Bay Area and other dry states like Arizona and Nevada."
On average, a household in San Francisco Bay Area can save between $600.00 and $1,200.00 annually on water bill along if they get rid of the natural grass lawns.

There are all those artificial grass firms out there promising they offer pet grass products, which make individuals consider they have many alternatives for fashions and different quality of artificial dog grass. The reality is they do not. Because 90% of all man-made, synthetic grass or turf is made in or near Dalton, Georgia by carpet producers, the machines that produce carpet also make artificial synthetic turf using a "tufting machine." The only difference between carpeting and artificial turf is the rubber backing and the yarn that's used. Artificial grass firms that advertise potty grass, pet turf, dog grass, dog turf, pooch grass, and many other names are merely selling an existent grass merchandise they renamed to appeal to pet owners. The petgrass of global Syn Turf is a real deal. Their petgrass attributes unique Flo-Rite-Thru technology with a proprietary backing and amalgamated antimicrobials permeable, GST petgrass empties 50 times faster and requires less water for cleaning.
When referring to Pet's turf, most folks often concentrate on the grass products itself and discount the fact and gain of a Pet's turf system. ZeoFill, a natural mineral powdery particles need to be employed as an "infill" to be mixture into the Pet's turf, that will behave as a neutralizing agent to minimize the smell of pee. A well prepared 3-4" base with compacted crushed rocks and decomposed granite is certainly required to permit proper drainage. Global Syn-Turf's Synthetic Grass Pet Odor Neutralizer should be utilized to eliminate any pet's scents. In recent years, a lot of pro golfers have adapted artificial putting greens in their own back yards. Bernhard Langer, the two time master champions, is one of the newest golf celebrities to have synthetic grass and putting greens installed. "I never imagine that I could have the manicure look of golf green here right in my own back yard!" Bernhard Langer's back yard is featuring the best synthetic grass and putting greens by Global Syn-Turf, Inc., he made these comments during an interview in Palm Beach, Florida.
A backyard putting green constructed of artificial turf costs an average of $14 per square foot. Contrast that with an average of $8-$12 per square foot for a regular artificial turf lawn, and a backyard putting green looks like a very good deal indeed given the use youll get out of it.
When designed with creativity and a spirit of fun, a backyard putting green can be a popular gathering spot for friends and family to enjoy one anothers company and the pleasures of the outdoors for years to come. Many people, especially the pros will consider the performance of artificial putting greens: "Does it perform the same or similar as real grass greens?" The answer is absolutely! These are two major types of artificial putting greens on the market, the fully in filled slitfilm type will receive chip shorts and putting speed just like real greens and the non directional monofilament putting greens while installed and infilled properly will achieve a speed range of 12-15 ft.

Is artificial turf safe for children? A queries asked by a lot of people who are considering artificial grass for his or her homes. The answer is absolutely yes! More than 75 independent and legitimate studies from groups for example the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, U.S. Environment Protection Agency and state governmental agencies like the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation, New York State Dept of Health and the California Environmental Protection Agency, have confirmed the security of artificial grass (notice Position Statements to learn more). For 40 years, under EPA oversight and OSHA- regulated manufacturing, no one has ever documented bad effects related to any substances associated with synthetic turf.
In October 2010, the California Office of Environmental Assessment completed its multi-year study of air quality above crumb rubber infilled synthetic turf, and germs in the turf, and reported that there were not any public health concerns.
In July 2010, the Connecticut Department of public-health declared that a new study of the hazards to children and adults playing on artificial turf fields including crumb rubber infill demonstrates "no elevated health dangers."
A December 2009 U.S. Environment Protection Agency scoping research of the health dangers from inhalation, ingestion, and dermal contact with synthetic grass and crumb rubber identified every test lead to be "below levels of concern."
The California EPA launched a written report dated July 2009 which suggested a minimal human health threat is from inhaling the atmosphere above synthetic lawn.
Impartial tests conducted from the Ny State Department of Environment Conservation and New York State Department of Health, launched in May 2009, proved there were no critical health concerns at artificial turf areas.
Global Syn-Turf is an exclusive artificial grass partner of San Francisco 49ers.
Artificial grass gained considerable attention in the 1960s, when it was used in the recently built Astrodome in Houston, Texas. Nevertheless, the first generation was simply a green plastic variant of carpet, quite man-made! During the previous five decades, the artificial grass sport fields market has been growing rapidly and steadily, now, over 90 percent of NFL fields are artificial. Artificial turf can withstand more use and can therefore be used much more often. This allows sports ground owners to create more income from their facilities. The upkeep price is just 1/5 of that of actual grass.
Since the early 1990s, the application of synthetic grass in the more arid Western states of the United States has proceeded quickly to commercial and residential landscaping. The dramatic advancement in the quality and assortment of accessible synthetic grasses, the decreased cost of care and upkeep has driven this trend compared to natural grass.

Most synthetic turf products require infills which to be installed onto the grass between blades to help the blades of grass stand up and also hold the turf down. In addition, it protects the grass backing from ultraviolet rays that could cause damage and void guarantees. Some artificial grass infill options are ZeoFill, Green sand, Copper slag, Silica Sand and Rubber. Among all, ZeoFill is the choice for synthetic turf infill for playgrounds and pet owners. Dog owners with artificial grass lawns have been struggled with urine smells for years.. Many individuals want to water down their turf one time a week to get rid of the smell but never worked correctly because water from a hose does not have enough force to shove bacteria deep into the earth. ZeoFill is made out of a natural resource from the earth that is a negatively charged honey combed molecular structure that prevents the ammonia from forming a gas to become smelly and absorbs the urine. ZeoFill pulls any gases towards itself and hold it until sodium ion (Na ) in rain water releases the magnetivity and the force of heavy rainfall will flush out the bacteria, compelling it through the turf into the earth making your turf virtually new again. The sodium forces the calcium ions out and recharges the ZeoFill when dry. Nevertheless, ZeoFill will not remove bacteria that are poor. To remove poor bacteria, Global Syn-Turf, Inc. recommends nits very own Synthetic Grass Pet Odor Neutralizer, this enzyme products will not just neutralize the pet odor, but also remove poor bacteria and clean the turf, using this along with Zeofill will realize the best possible results on pet's odor control!
The ZeoFill granule will hold the ammonia water until it is cleaned out the ZeoFill with the enzyme solution or significant rainwater flushes. The ZeoFill granules will be trapped inside the turf system and contains a 5 year warranty on deterioration.
Thinking of grass lawns being installed at a house' front and back yards originated from England where the weather is quite accommodating to preserve and to grow natural grass. Here in particular states that are dry, such thought only will not fly! In cities situated in desert regions like Las Vegas, Nevada, Arizona and Phoenix, natural grass that is growing is extremely difficult. Artificial grass supplies an ideal alternative in such scenarios. As an industry, artificial grass is not so new, it has existed for over five decades. Nevertheless, to everyone, synthetic grass looks hardly old. "What? Synthetic grass? No way! You say, grass that imitates a real one? Do not scold. Artificial turf is going beyond golf courses and football fields to landscapes, backyards, and playground. When Steve Wallace of Santa Monica, California went for synthetic, he opted for longer blades and a darker green color a look he could never achieve with his natural lawn, which on 100-plus-degree summer days turned to dust, and on rainy days a mud pit. Tired of re-sodding twice a year not to mention the endless mowing and watering the 43-year-old homeowner was more than happy to plunk down $5,000 to see installers peel away his old lawn. Now, he says, two little children and his two dogs can romp and roll without enduring the plastic carpet burn of yore, or tearing up the turf. And maybe best of all is grassy it seems.
Makers credit the new "you coulda fooled me" look to the marvels of science. Global Syn-Turf's Maronic, for one, tends to lapse into sports car talk when describing the "combination of aesthetics and functionality" offered by the firm's latest creation, a compact grass it calls Double W series, which contains such space age-seeming characteristics as "Double W shaped blades" and "No-glow technology." The first price on artificial grass is higher than natural grass, but given the fact of most of synthetic grass will continue at least 8-10 years, such investment however makes lots of sense for most homeowners, notably those live in "desert cities".

October 14, 2018 10:50 AM - Businesses in Maine are facing a backlash after Susan Collins, the state’s Republican senator, decided to back the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Two of Maine's biggest industries, lobster fishing and tourism, are facing a consumer boycott following Ms Collins' key vote in the most hotly contested appointment to the Supreme Court since that of Clarence Thomas in 1991. The state's lobster industry is already reeling because of the punitive tariffs imposed by China as a result of the trade war launched by the Trump Administration. The Senate confirmed Mr Kavanaugh by 50 votes to 48 with Lisa Murkowski, another Republican, voting against his appointment but Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia, backing President Trump’s nominee. Ms Collins had been one of the waverers as Mr Kavanaugh faced a wave of sexual misconduct allegations, which he angrily denied. His confirmation infuriated women's rights campaigners and the controversy has shown little sign of abating in the aftermath of the vote. A crowdfunding campaign has already raised $3 million for any Democrat who runs against Ms Collins in 2020. Brett Kavanaugh's appointment was confirmed by the Senate Credit: Andrew Hamik/AP The boycott campaign took off when John Fugelsang, a comedian and actor, took to Twitter to voice his disgust to his 413,000 followers. “Dear Susan Collins – I really struggled with this but my tourist $ just voted against ever visiting Maine while you remain in office,” he tweeted. Mr Fugelsang has since said he was only joking, but already people have been voting with their wallets. They include John Tesar, the owner of six restaurants in Texas, who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on Maine seafood every year. He said he will look elsewhere in order to encourage Maine’s fishermen to vote her out of office. Mark Murrll's lobster business is facing a boycott because of Susan Collin's business Credit: Mark Murrell/Portland Press Herald “My intention was not to harm the Maine fishing industry, but to encourage people to take a stand for what they believe in, especially come election day, to remove people who supported Kavanaugh, and subscribe to his treatment of women,’ he said. “Moving forward, I will educate myself on the source of the seafood we use in my restaurants and understand who is providing it and who they support politically, to make better decisions. Mark Murrell, who runs GetMaineLobster.com, is among the businesses which bore the brunt of those incensed by Ms Collins’ vote. “We had customers who have contacted us saying they are boycotting us because of her speech and vote,” said Mr Murrell. “Basically they want businesses like ours to hustle and vote her out. But she is not up for re-election until 2020. “But we have also had people from the other side who, after they read the story, contacted me and said they were going to order more.” Mr Murrell said he had written to Senator Collins following her decision. “I was not happy with the course she took.” The Telegraph approached Senator Collins’ office, which declined to comment.

Susan Collins of Maine declared Friday she will vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination, all but ensuring that a deeply riven Senate will elevate the conservative jurist to the nation's highest court despite allegations that he sexually assaulted women decades ago.
