I just bought a small piece of pet grass and I want to put it indoors for my dogs. I know that typically it's nailed down outdoors, but what do I do to make it stay in place indoors?

Well, it depends on the actual size of the piece of artificial grass you got: if your piece is small, similar to a size of area rug or floor mat, you can simply leave it free floating just as you will do with any indoor area rugs or mat, you don’t need anything else to secure it onto the floor. However, if your artificial turf piece is large and you would like to install it inside your house permanently, you can treat it as regular carpet: pin it down to the floor or glue it down will work just fine.

Typically you can treat your indoor artificial grass as carpet, the only thing you won’t do is to steam clean it as you would on real carpets. If your artificial grass is with short blades which are common for indoor applications, you can simply vacuum it by setting your vacuum cleaner at high carpet settings. You will need to be a bit careful on the real high fiber artificial grass when it comes to cleaning: you need to test a bit to see if your vacuum can handle real tall fibers before you vacuum it, if not, you can use semi-dry mop to clean the grass. Artificial grass can be used both outdoors and indoors, we design our products for both uses without any issues. I will say the majority of applications of artificial grass are outdoors as it is mainly the perfect replica of real grass. However, in order to achieve landscape designs for some indoor applications, real grass won't be feasible due to the watering or maintenance concerns, artificial turf will be the only option. Also, all the indoor events, sport fields will need artificial grass as well. Sometimes, people will use artificial turf for indoor carpet for which application, I will always suggest to use turf with shorter blades so it will be easier to clean and provide less tripping concerns.
