In my area, there are multiple turf suppliers to choose from. GST has good grass, but the issue is that they don't have a local branch in New Jersey so I have to pay for shipping with every order. I'm not sure if it's worth it for us to do so when I can just pick up at a local vendor. The difference in grass quality might be worth it, but in times like these, we need to make sure we are spending our money efficiently to stay in business. Like the products and service, but not the shipping costs.

I was looking for an artificial turf company with a good online reputation or a personal reference from someone that has used the company. I was shopping at a landscape supply store in my city and saw a display rack of artificial turf. I started talking to the gentleman at the counter and he educated me a lot about artificial turf, how to install it and maintain it. He said they have used a manufacturer of artificial turf called Global Syn Turf for the last 8 years. He mentioned they have been very reliable, make a great turf, stand behind the turf with a 15 year Manufacturer's Product Warranty. He gave me some free samples to take home with me and gave me a phone number of three different installers they refer for synthetic grass installation. I called all three installers and had them come out measure my yard and give me a written estimate. All three estimates came in about the same with about the same square footage. I looked up all three installers online and went with the one that has the best online reviews. They installed the grass last week and presented me with the 1 year labor warranty and the 15 year Manufacturer's Product Warranty Certificate. I want to thank my local landscape supply company, Global Syn Turf and the installation company that did such a great job on my yard. I recommend all these companies to anyone considering artificial turf in their front or backyard.
The idea of grass lawns being installed at a house' front and back yards initiated from England where the weather is very accommodating to grow and maintain natural grass. Here in certain dry states, such idea just won't fly! In cities located in desert areas such as Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada, growing natural grass is almost impossible. People are tired of plain and boring cement or rockery look and a lot of desert landscape ideas won't satisfy most homeowners' desire for "green". Artificial grass provides a perfect solution in such situations. As an industry, artificial grass is not that new, it has been around for more than five decades. However, to the general public, synthetic grass seems very new.
"What? Plastic grass? Give me a break!" Really? Fake grass, you say? Don't scoff. Synthetic turf in Morris, New Jersey is moving beyond football fields and golf courses to become more common in home landscapes. When Steve Wallace of Santa Monica, California went for synthetic, he opted for longer blades and a darker green color a look he could never achieve with his natural lawn, which on 100-plus-degree summer days turned to dust, and on rainy days a mud pit. Tired of re-sodding twice a year not to mention the endless mowing and watering the 43-year-old homeowner was more than happy to plunk down $5,000 to see installers peel away his old lawn. Now, he says, his two dogs and two small kids can romp and roll around without tearing up the turf, or suffering the plastic rug burn of yore. And perhaps best of all is how grassy it looks.
"People have to go up close to it," he says, before they say, Wow, this isn't real."
Manufacturers credit the new you coulda fooled me look to the marvels of science. Global Syn-Turf's vice president Dave Maronic, for one, tends to lapse into sports-car speak when describing the blend of aesthetics and performance offered by the company's latest creation, a dense grass it calls Double W series, which includes such space-age sounding features as Double W shaped blades and No-shine technology. The initial cost on artificial grass is higher than natural grass, but given the fact of most of synthetic grass will last at least 8-10 years, such investment still makes a lot of sense for most homeowners, especially those live in "desert cities".

The answer is absolutely! These are two major kinds of artificial putting greens in the marketplace, the entirely in filled slitfilm sort will receive chip short pants and putting speed just like real greens and the non directional monofilament putting greens while installed and infilled properly will attain a speed range of 12-15 ft.
More than 80 percent of Morris, New Jersey residents who want to know more about artificial grass are dog owners! Why? Most dogs could have a place in the lawn that dog owners decide when they relieve themselves, that may destroy the nature grass to use, and creating nasty appearing brown spots there's virtually no actual alternatives because of this issue. Artificial turf in general, empties well and pet wrecks can be cleaned up readily. Such premium products are becoming the surfacing choice that was perfect for vet practices, and kennels, dog boarding and pet facilities, dog parks, both inside and outside. Most of the pet grass installers that are professional will propose to use safe Zeofill and organic on to the artificial grass as the pets waste neutralizer that will minimize the dog smell naturally. Such products can be found through such artificial grass businesses as Global Syn-Turf, Inc.
To keep your pet's place clean and scent-free, a properly installed under-drain system is really critical. Such foundation surface should be as level as possible with a minimal grade for drainage that is optimal.

A properly certified turf should also have a soft, consistent surface that is ADA accessible for easy wheelchair access. Since the grass wont displace like loose fill such as sand, rubber chips, or wood chips, the safety rating is easy to maintain at all times, even under play equipment. The synthetic grass on the market today provides an extremely natural appearance. Those who have seen the latest products are often surprised at how real it looks. Forget about substances, substances like fertilizers for yard that is natural will eventually wind up in our land and water that is subterranean, great health risks that are current to human life.
No neighbor yard envy...
No lawnmower noise
No pet urine brown spots
Surely, both market and environmental problems work in artificial grass's favor.. Though still higher priced than actual grass install and to purchase -- it can cost as much as several times as much as about $6,000 to $8,000, or natural turf for a typical yard -- but the life savings add up. For 40 years, under EPA supervision and OSHA- no one making, has ever documented bad results related to any substances related to artificial grass.

The Ca EPA launched a study dated July 2009 which suggested a minimal individual health hazard is from inhaling the atmosphere above artificial grass.
Impartial evaluations conducted from the NY State Department of Environment Conservation and New York State Dept of Health, launched in-May 2009, demonstrated there were no major health issues at artificial grass areas.
Most requires infills which to be installed onto the grass to help the blades of grass stand up and also hold the turf down. The grass backing is also protected by it from uv rays which may cause damage and void guarantees. Some artificial grass infill alternatives are ZeoFill, Green sand, Silica Sand, tCool and Zeofill. Among all, ZeoFill is the #1 choice for synthetic turf infill for pet owners and playgrounds. Dog owners with artificial grass lawns have been struggled with pee smells for years.. A lot of people are trying to water down their turf one time a week to remove the odor but never worked properly because water from a hose doesn't have sufficient power to push bacteria deep into the earth. ZeoFill is made from a natural resource in the earth which is a negatively charged honey combed molecular structure that prevents the ammonia from forming a gas and absorbs the urine. ZeoFill pulls any gases towards itself and hold it until sodium ion (Na ) in rain water discharges the magnetivity and the force of significant rainfall will flush out the bacteria, driving it through the turf into the ground making your turf virtually new again. However, ZeoFill will not remove bad bacteria. To remove awful bacteria, Global Syn-Turf, Inc. recommends nits quite own Synthetic Grass Pet Odor Neutralizer, this enzyme products are not only going to neutralize the pet scent, but also remove poor bacteria and clean the turf, using this along with Zeofill will achieve the best possible results on pet's scent control!
To maximize the Benefits of ZeoFill, always install it on top of turf not under turf: When your dog urinates on the turf, the pee will immediately be consumed by the ZeoFill granules preventing ammonia bacteria particles from traveling through the turf. The ZeoFill granule will hold the ammonia water until it's cleaned with an enzyme solution or heavy rainwater flushes out the ZeoFill. The ZeoFill granules will be trapped inside the turf system and has a 5 year warranty on deterioration.
