I am trying to find a way to protect my children against injuries when they play volleyball outside.

Yes, our artificial grass yarns are all engineered to be very durable and for sport applications. When using the artificial turf for valley ball court, you would like to use grass with short blades. If your installation is indoors, I will recommend to use shortest pike turf possible maybe even use putting green products. If the installation is for outdoors, I will recommend to use infills onto the turf. The grass fibers are always durable enough to withstand the volleyball activities.
![]() | I saw that most playing fields were lined with artificial grass on sports channels so I guess it is stable for a volleyball court |
![]() | It is worth the money! |

Which turf do you recommend, for the authentic feel of a golf course fringe
![]() | Jan 16, 2020 10:43 AM |
We will recommend shorter artificial grass as golf putting green fringes. One of my favorite is our StarGrass: this product has excellent price point, and with multiple colors that can easily blend in with any of our putting green colors very well. The height of the grass is about 1”, enough to stop the ball, yet not too tall to be a good fringe. So this is how you picture the entire putting green area: using one of our great putting green product such as Proputt-44, with StarGrass as fringe with minimal 2’ in width, than use regular height artificial turf as general lawn area, you will have great color contracts and multiple layers of overall design.
You can also use other products such as Trainers Turf, PetTurf (yes, PetTurf) for your gold green fringes. Here are link from where you can find all of above mentioned products: https://www.globalsynturf.com/catalog/landscape-lawns

I want to make sure it's still in good condition when shipped

The answer is yes and no. Artificial grass come in with the form of “rolls”, exactly like carpet, we call this type of product “broadloom”. The turf is rolled up around a center core which is made of cardboard or PVCs, the dimensions of the cores varies from 3”-5” in diameter and they are as long as the Turf’s width which typically is 15’. Moving and shipping such broadloom products requires a forklift attachment, carpet pole. You simply have to equipped with forklift along with the carpet poles when move or ship the turf.
When I answered yes to your question, I refer to the fact of when people are handling turf products without carpet poles during the shipment, and damages to the turf can happen easily, a lot of shipping companies don’t have carpet poles, they will use forklift and the tips of the forklift can easily poke into the turf and cause damages.
When I answered no to your question: if your shipping company have the proper forklift along with carpet poles and handle and ship your products professionally, it will be much less likely cause damages to the turf.
At Global Syn-Turf, we only use shipping companies who are equipped and capable of handling and shipping broadloom products.

My dog always pees in my turf. Will this affect its color overtime?
![]() | Jan 16, 2020 11:59 AM |
Artificial grass is made of polyethylene and polypropylene materials, and the fibers are not porous, so the dog urine won’t be absorbed into the fibers therefore turf won’t be discolored or faded by dog urine, there might be residues on the grass surface which can be easily rinsed off leaving the colors in good state.
![]() | When GST said that their products are high quality and low maintenance, they sure live up to their promise. |
![]() | Some artificial grass are built resistant to dog's urine |
![]() | That sounds good. I don't have to change artificial grass then. |
I am thinking about using this for a summer snowboard park.

Not sure about your question, using a lot of water on artificial grass? You don’t need to use water on artificial turf unless you are talking about to use water spray cleaning the artificial lawn, in any case, I don’t see any good logic or reasons that you have to use a lot of water on your grass.

To make it easier for me to go back and forth as I will use this outside of my apartment

Yes, you can fold the artificial grass. But you have to be careful about the crease marks when folding the turf. Folding the artificial grass won’t make any damages to it, without enough experience, you might have a hard time to get rid of the crease marks from the folding. You always want to open up the turf and leave it under the sun for a few minutes to allow it to relax, sometimes you might have to flip the turf and have the backing side up and allow more time for sun to heat it. In a warm day, the crease markS should go away after a few minutes. If after the turf being relaxed and you still can see some, you can use brushes or brooms to brush the mark area and that will take care of it.
![]() | I folded my artificial grass before, the effect is not good for me. |
![]() | Rolling it is the best way to do it. Folding would leave marks and it wouldn't look too good when it's installed |
![]() | Just roll it. Much easier to pack rather than folding it. |
I don't want it to look too shiny, I want it to look as realistic as possible
![]() | Jan 16, 2020 10:55 AM |
Artificial grass from other companies looks shiny for two reasons: the fibers are flat and reflecting lights, also being plastic, the products are shiny to start with. At Global Syn-Turf, our engineers have done a great job to minimize the shiny look, we call it “delustered”! All our our products have delustered yarns which are made with deluster additives so the appearance of the turf is “dull” to start with. More importantly, we make all of our yarns into different shapes instead of being flat, we call that “engineered” blades. Having a shape to the yarn, the lights will be reflected by a “line” rather than a surface, so our artificial grass won’t look shiny or plastic, more like dull looking real grass.

![]() | I personally do not like shiny turfs. |
I am uncertain how well it would stay in place after the installation.
![]() | Jan 16, 2020 8:51 AM |
Our artificial grass do have non skid backing. When you flip the turf and look at the backing, you can see the stitch knots sticking out of the backing surface which provide great frictions when making contact with other surfaces.
![]() | That's good. |
![]() | That's very important and safe for children and elderly. |

I would love to see some of these artificial grass around my pool area

No, chlorine won’t damage artificial grass. However you need be aware that chemical and water residues can stick onto grass fibers and create calcium buildups and after certain time period, the turf might start looking whitish: the reality is that nothing wrong with the artificial grass but chlorine residues and water calciums got built up on the grass fibers. When such issues occur, you can use calcium cleaners to rub off these buildups.
![]() | Yeah, maybe it does not fade yet but it will as time goes by and if it regularly happen. |
![]() | I tried using bleach and nothing happens! the color didn't change or fade at all |
